Salve Regina University announced a partnership with Scholars Network that lowers the cost of earning a nursing degree and connects students directly to Rhode Island healthcare employers offering loan repayment support after graduation.
Under the program, participating Salve nursing students can be matched with regional health system partners who fund a portion of their student loans in exchange for a multi-year clinical work commitment. For students, the arrangement reduces both the financial risk of pursuing a nursing career and the uncertainty of finding a job after graduation. For Rhode Island health systems, it creates a more reliable pipeline of new nurses with strong ties to the state.
Salve joins a growing roster of Scholars Network partner schools across the Northeast — including Duquesne, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Gwynedd Mercy, and Widener — extending the employer-backed loan repayment model into Rhode Island's nursing workforce.
