Johnson & Wales University has partnered with Scholars Network to help match its healthcare graduates with employer partners in need of qualified clinical talent. JWU graduates from the university's physical therapy, registered nursing, and physician assistant programs who accept a position through the network may qualify for student loan repayment as part of the placement.
"We are thrilled to partner with Scholars Network to make it easier for our graduates to enter the healthcare workforce. The healthcare workforce shortage is a complex issue, but it's one we are determined to help solve. This partnership is a great way to break down barriers to entering the healthcare field and thrive in careers that make a difference."
Maura Daly Iversen, DPT, D.Sc., MPH, FAPTA, FNAP, Dean of the College of Health & Wellness, Johnson & Wales University
JWU's College of Health & Wellness spans degree programs in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, public health, and clinical nutrition, with campuses in Providence and Charlotte and an online presence. The Scholars Network model — employer-funded loan repayment paired with a defined work commitment — gives JWU graduates a way to begin their clinical careers without the weight of educational debt while giving partner health systems a pipeline of locally trained talent.
