Indiana University of Pennsylvania has partnered with Scholars Network to give nursing graduates a direct path to guaranteed employment and employer-supported loan repayment. The partnership connects qualified IUP nursing graduates with healthcare employers in the Scholars Network, and those who apply and are accepted receive both a confirmed position and loan repayment as part of their commitment.

How The Program Works

The program is open to nursing students who finance their studies through federal or private loans. Students apply for a position with a participating employer before graduation. Once accepted, they commit to a Scholar agreement guaranteeing employment and loan repayment upon graduation and licensure. Students also have the opportunity to participate in clinical rotations or internships at their future employment sites before they complete their degree.

"We're excited to partner with Scholars Network to create more opportunities and financial support for our graduates as they begin their healthcare careers. This partnership helps to remove financial and logistical barriers for our students, empowering graduates to step confidently into meaningful roles where they can make a real impact. Addressing the healthcare workforce shortage will take long-term, collaborative solutions, and we are committed to being part of that effort."

Theresa Gropelli, Chairperson, IUP Department of Nursing

IUP's Nursing Program

More than 125 nursing students graduate from IUP's nursing program annually. The program holds accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and IUP nursing graduates achieve a 97 percent first-time passing rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, well above the national average of 88.56 percent and Pennsylvania's average of 91 percent.
